BOOTSTRAPS

He pulled himself up by his bootstraps --
he had bootstraps
And he survived
He's alive!
It couldn't have come soon enough.
It was written in the clouds
and in the trees
and in the oak leaves
It was written in the raindrops
and in the rose petals
and in the voices of singers
Let him rise up again
they all say
Let him stride forth
with strong legs and body
chest high with confidence
Head and heart full of gratefulness 
for his bootstraps
He touches his forehead 
and his heart center
Then reaches out 
to those with no bootstraps
and pulls them to safety.
